I'm looking for you!

Are you ready for me? I'm sure I can help you reduce stress (I'm so full of love to share) and stay active. I'm really starting to get this being part of a family thing. I continue to learn my house manners and am doing well with my house training. I'm not sure, if I ever had the luxury, in my other life to be in a house as a family member. Before being rescued, I was picked up as a stray and sat in a kill shelter for 3 months (I only lasted that long because they loved me and knew I was a treasure).

I am pretty healthy now. I am being treated for a urinary tract infection that may have been going on for a long time. It is because of that issue, that I still have accidents in the house (I just can't hold it). My medication is helping to clear it up and I am getting much better at letting someone know when I have to go (but I still have to go immediately when I bark or scratch at the door).

I will go to my first Meet & Greet today (I'm so excited to see everyone)! I hope my family finds me soon. I will be looking for you! Are you ready for me?

Look at me now!

Hi friends and fans! I just wanted to give you a little update since being in my foster home. First off, I am feeling so much better thanks to Forgotten Friends Rescue. As you can see, the hair on my ears is growing back. My tail has some fuzz starting to grow too. I'm excited about that because I want my first Meet & Greet debut to be all about me and how lovely & sweet I am. That's right...I will be making my appearance on March 14th & 21st at the Petco @ Great Hills Trail in Austin. Please don't miss it! Come on by and say hi and give me a belly rub (or two).

I am starting to learn my house manners. If you have a treat ready I will sit for you. I am also learning to stay (short), look and already know down. I do lose focus quickly sometimes, so I really need a lot of yummy treats to keep my attention. I play well with my foster brothers (dogs) and love to be with the family. I am trying to learn to like my crate, but I love it more when I can be out and about. As a matter of fact, foster Dad gave me a chance to prove myself and allowed my to stay out with my foster brothers while he ran a few errands. He was very impressed, and said that I did a wonderful job because everything was just as he left it. I am learning many new things like going for a car ride, walking on a leash, when not to jump, etc. When I first got to my foster home I did like to gather toys and other things in my little pile to keep safe. Now that I've settled into the routine, I don't really do that too much (although foster Mom says it's kinda cute;). I do like my small squeaky toys and play with them in the backyard. Speaking of backyards...I love to spend some time outside just basking in the sun with my family. Do you have an empty backyard that needs a sweet, loving girl to share it with? We could be a match made in heaven.

The family I'm looking for is fun, likes to play outdoors, wants to continue to help me learn my manners and even take me to a training class. I am very fast and run like a deer. Foster Mom said that I am always happy and when I get excited outside I do a little jump in the air like the "lucky charms" guy! I hope to see you soon. I'll keep you posted.

In the beginning...

Emma Lou starts her journey into rescue. She is missing patches of hair on both ears as well as the tip of her tail. We do not know for sure if the hair will grow back. She was diagnosed with the following issues: Sarcoptic mange, ear mites, skin infection and fecal parasites. She has a beautiful, loving spirit and just wants to find a family to love her forever...this is the beginning of her journey.
